So here’s the thing, you can’t control the weather. I make my living taking photographs, primarily outside, so I know this all too well! Sometimes we cancel, sometimes we postpone and that’s cool with me. Sometimes it rains and we shoot anyway. Enter the Gorman family! We met up at the base of Alpine Ski Club under a dark sky with fog on the horizon.
Me: What do you guys think, should we go for it?
Gormans: Sure, it’s not raining that bad…
OK, sweet, up the lift we go! We get about half way to the top and the sky opens up. Rain. Hail. Wind. Come on! Luckily the hail stopped and we were able to do a couple of runs together. Good spirits and big smiles all around made for a really fun shoot. We would all have preferred a blue sky, but this awesome family proved that it’s more about the people in the pictures. Oh, and long lens hoods to keep rain drops off the camera 😉
